Practice Areas

Ms. Becker represents private and public clients on construction law matters before state agencies and courts.  Currently, one hundred percent of her practice is dedicated to construction law matters.  Her specific practice areas include: hiring of design professionals, contractors, and construction managers; drafting of contract documents; selection and implementation of construction procurement methods (request for proposals, competitive sealed proposals, competitive bidding), selection and implementation of construction delivery methods (design‑build, design-bid-build, lease-purchase); facilities standards compliance; warranty enforcement; as well as indoor air quality issues.  Additionally, Ms. Becker is involved in arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and litigation for both her private and public clients.

Ms. Becker is a frequent speaker on construction law related topics such as public procurement, indoor air quality, and the AIA standard form agreements for organizations such as the Texas School Administrators Association, National Association of Purchasing Managers, and Council of Educational Facility Planners International.  She has also published several articles on similar topics for publications such as Maintenance Solutions, Buildings, and Education FM.
